Grade 8 Students at St. John Bosco Catholic School Celebrate the Role of Family

The Fully Alive program in Grade 8 incorporates many themes centering on the importance and value of human relationships.  Our more intimate relationships, especially with our families, really form who we are and for adolescents, who we become as adults.

In Mr. Cyr’s Grade 8 class at St. John Bosco Catholic School, students discussed the significance of traditions within our families; one of his students, Emily H, was able to take the concept of traditions and create an art motif of a traditional family dinner.  Through her lens, the dinner, especially special celebrations like Thanksgiving, brings families closer together which ensures that our support and love for each other becomes stronger.  Her elaborate display is set up in the hallway for all to see and many students who come by comment on the ‘familiarity’ they feel with the settings and the table design.

Thank you Emily for sharing your talents with our staff and students.  You have inspired us to make this Thanksgiving meaningful and special within our own families!
