St. John Bosco Catholic School celebrates Thanksgiving Mass with Fr. Paul Magyar

Posted On Friday October 13, 2017

St. John Bosco Catholic School celebrated its first Mass of the year on Thursday, October 5.  Students, staff, parents and special guests were gathered in the gym to give thanks for all of our blessings and to share in the Eucharist with Fr. Paul.

We want to thank Mrs. Kennedy and her Faith Team for all the preparations they do beforehand to be ready for Mass.  In fact, Mrs. Kennedy does more than just prepare for Mass; she actually INSPIRES the students with her wonderful choices for hymns as was demonstrated on Thursday.

Once Mass was finished, Fr. Paul made his way around the school visiting classes, and of course, eventually found himself outside at the basketball nets during lunch recess, giving tips to students on shooting, dribbling and even demonstrating some pretty fine shooting skills himself! The students were so enthralled with Father’s ball skills, they burst into song to ‘cheer’ him on as he tried to hit two-pointers at the intermediate net.  “Lord I Lift Your Name on High” a big favourite with Bosco student, could be heard across the school yard!!

We need to thank Mrs. Kennedy for sharing her gift of music with our students. Father Paul was very impressed with their choice of musical accompaniment!!
